Lists – ¡Ya basta!

I’m not sure who it was, no doubt one of the many hucksters of online content strategy that have spread like kudzu to the four corners of the online world, decreed that lists are an effective means to develop ideas and drive traffic. And we love lists, allegedly. I’m crying enough with the lists. They are often strained and low-impact attempts at stretching a concept without providing a real perspective or analysis.

While the online hucksters and gurus can use all their NLP precepts to wrap people in their convoluted and often hollow content farms, the ability of these people to drive the memetic agenda is worrisome. I think it’s an evolutionary dead end, especially contrasted with the real possibilities opened up by an emerging semantic web.
